Melody Dobson is a professional singer with considerable international experience. She holds a master’s degree in voice performance and is one of the most successful teachers in New Brunswick. Her voice students are prize winners in competitive music festivals and play lead roles in local musical theatre productions. Many graduates of Melody’s studio pursue secondary study and careers in the performing arts.
Melody has adjudicated at music festivals all over the Maritimes, including the Nova Scotia Provincial Final and the festivals of Charlottetown, Fredericton, and Saint John. She has also served as a voice examiner at Mount Allison University, l'Université de Moncton, and the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts in Halifax.
Since 2004, Melody has directed The Greater Moncton Chorale, now the largest choral organization in the province, with performance groups for children, teens, and adults. Her work with the Chorale has earned her a Distinguished Service Award from the New Brunswick Choral Federation.
Melody is also a Paul Harris Fellow – an honour bestowed by the Rotary Club of Moncton West & Riverview, in recognition of her leadership role as a music educator in the Greater Moncton region.
